The CLS offers a variety of activities to help bring students into direct contact with the culture surrounding them. A weekly “intercambio” is scheduled during the afternoon for those students who would like to meet more Mexican people. It consists in the informal practice of the language: one hour of conversation in Spanish and one hour of conversation in English. This is a great opportunity to make more “amigos”.
“La mesa que habla” is the perfect and casual space to share the students’ experiences in Cuernavaca and discuss about different topics concerning the Mexican culture, history, and current events. This round table is led by the Academic Director once a week during the afternoon in a Mexican Chocolatería.
On weekends, students may explore some of the cultural and historic points of interest in and around Cuernavaca. You can visit the silver-mining town of Taxco, the outstanding museums and sophistications of Mexico City, the Pyramids of Xochicalco, the magic town of Tepoztlan, as some examples. These excursions are offered by a third party and may be available depending on the number of participants, weather conditions, etc. Costs vary depending on the place to visit and lenght of the excursion.
